Hello Hello!!!! I hope that you all are enjoying the holidays!

It’s been crazy at work- anyone who works/ed in retail knows what I mean! Oy! I was then sick for quite a few days this week and today will be my first day outside since Monday! Bring on the snow:D

No personal shopping for me these past few weeks, but I finally caught up on my reviews for The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress!

So Christmas with my family isn’t more than a simple get together and Secret Santa. Cash was the top gift though from relatives and I’m perfectly happy with that! Surprisingly, I only received ONE book this holiday and that was from Michele @ Just a Lil Lost (though NOT surprising that she was the one who got me it)!

Fateful by Claudia Gray — Whoa! Completely forgot what this book was about! Werewolves and the Titanic?! Sure why not? Haha. Also perfect to join in Michele’s Read-a-Long in April!
Buy it: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

She also got me a Ravenclaw pin from her trip to Hogwarts (aka Universal Studios), a blueberry macaron lip gloss (yum!) and the Times Late Edition from Sephora’s awesomely new nail polish kits, The New Black! I had mentioned it to her that they were nowhere to be found in my area (100 mile radius according to their site!) and maybe it’s because we’ve known each other for so long, but I just had a feeling she would get it for me;) Here’s her Swoon-Worthy Sunday post on the kits if you’re interested!

zombie apocalypse

Can You Survive the Zombie Apocalypse? by Max Brallier — This is a gift my BF received from my brother, but I HAD to share it! How awesome is this?! Choose your own adventure meets the zombie apocalypse!

Stacking the Shelves: the Not So Black Friday Edition

Hello lovelies! I hope those that celebrated Thanksgiving enjoyed it as much I’m sure your stomachs did:) I know I completely passed out shortly after getting home from my parents’ and was out cold until around 9am- a very good sign of a happy belly wouldn’t you say?

Well despite working for a large retail company, I opted to take this holiday weekend off and as always I avoided the crazy shopping on Black Friday. My only exception was my book trip to the Strand:)

The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress — I saw this on a few people’s StS last week and it seemed like a fun read! I was excited to see a finished copy on the shelves:)
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository
publication date: December 6, 2012

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell — I didn’t hear of this until I saw the trailer for the movie, but it seemed so interesting!
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

It was Scarlet Friday yesterday and Marissa Meyer had some wonderful goodies to share!

Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) Chapters 1-5 by Marissa Meyer — I always love it when authors give us a sneak peak, makes not being fortunate to get an ARC a little easier;)
Download the FREE e-book here
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository — Be the first 1,000 people to pre-order and get a free ‘SCARLET’ branded lip gloss! Full details here.
publication date: February 5, 2013

The Queen’s Army (Lunar Chronicles #1.5) by Marissa Meyer — Yay!

Hello there!

After so long without having done a post, I was kinda lost on how to do things! Well nonetheless, I’m happy to be doing this again:)

This week’s haul comes after months of a strict book buying ban (and by “strict” I mean what the BF doesn’t know:P). I went to my favorite place, The Strand, and they had a deal that if you spend $50 you get a FREE TOTE! So even though I REALLY wanted some other titles that were still somewhat full price, I opted for the cheapos so I could get more books and stay within budget;)

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare — Yeah I know I’m totally late with this one, but if think about it, I got it the same day the trailer debuted- so I had good time in that way. I love The Infernal Devices series though so I’ll give this one a shot (and for $5!)
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

False Memory (False Memory #1) by Dan Krokos — This kinda reminds me of a Jason Bourne scenario with the main character having amnesia about her true identity as a trained human weapon.
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan — I actually received this via NetGalley, but the cover is just too pretty to not have a physical copy of!
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Black City (Black City #1) by Elizabeth Richards — Amongst the huge pile of full priced copies, I was able to snag one for half off! Go me!
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Breathe (Breathe #1) by Sarah Crossan — Last book I picked up to make the $50 goal. I have been wanting to read this and I missed out on going to a signing last month:/
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Ten by Gretchen McNeil — Going out of my comfort zone with this one. I’ve never been into contemporary YA horror/mystery, though when I first heard about this I really wanted it for some reason.
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Also I finally changed my hair color! I’ve always been hesitant with going for anything other than my usual pink and purple, but this turquoise turned out really nice:)

What lovely goodies this you get this week? Leave me your link and I’ll find out!

Two and Twenty Dark Tales: Dark Retellings of Mother Goose Rhymes by Various Authors — Another eARC for read and review by the publisher. The premise is so intriguing that I couldn’t pass it up!
Pre-Order: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

And my sister was kind enough to bring me back from her vacation on Captiva Island (just offshore of Florida) this Starbucks mug! I don’t have nearly an impressive collection as some people *cough*Michele*cough*, but these are always fun to collect.

Stacking the Shelves: The Moved Over to Stacking the Shleves Edition

Standard

weekly meme hosted by Tynga

Okay so no real reason to go over to Stacking the Shelves other than it’s easier to just go down a list of weekly hauls than to go searching for them.

I’ve been really good with my book buying ban, so the other day I thought I give myself a little treat by going to the bookstore! I don’t think the BF noticed the new additions, but shhhhh😉

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy #1)
by Leigh Bardugo — One of the more recent discoveries that I’ve been anticipating! Love the cover too- really different from a lot of YA books.
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Lies Beneath (Lies Beneath #1) by Anne Greenwood Brown — Wow! This FINALLY came out! I’ve had this on my wishlist since the fall and I thought I just never got around to getting it! HAHA
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein — I had seen this a couple of months ago on someone’s weekly haul and this week I’ve seen it on at least two lists naming it one of the best YA books of the year!
Buy It: Amazon (Kindle) | Book Depository

That’s my haul for the week (and many others past and future)! Leave me your link and I’ll stop by:)
