H A P P Y N E W Y E A R ! ! !

I hope everyone is enjoying their start to 2013:) As for me, I have work. Boo.

I really like this week’s TTT topic as it’ll be a great way to sort out what I’ve been meaning to read for so long and most of them have a sequel out this year, so it’s perfect!

1. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl — One I’ll definitely read before the movie is released, but even then I probably won’t have anyone to see it with anyway.

2. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare — I can’t recall why I put this series off for so long and went straight to The Infernal Devices series (which I love). Another one to read before the movie.

3. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn — It’s been almost a year since I first heard about this and since then I’ve been wanting to read it!

4. Delirium/Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver — Somehow I didn’t finish Delirium even though I was just a few chapters away and I was really enjoying it! I may have to start it again to refresh my memory, but I know I’ll go straight into Pandemonium afterwards.

5. Legend by Marie Lu — Um yeah, I’m not going to let this go by for another whole year!

6. Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson — I need a funny book in my life and she’s scheduled for a signing at a local Barnes & Noble in March, so it’s wonderful timing;)

7. Everneath by Brodi Ashton — Another one that’s time for me to read. I sure do love the cover:)

8. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead — Yeah. I know>_<

9. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken — I don’t think I read any of the books I picked up at BEA, but of them this is the one I’m intrigued to start!

10. The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling — I’ve heard mixed things about this, but I have to read it out of principle:P

Oh I really should give this list out! Okay maybe not since I don’t get a whole lot of gifts and cash is just as good as books:P Though I could easily just use my list from last week for most anticipated 2013 releases (because pre-orders count, right?), I’m actually going to dip into my wish list pile and see what’s been gathering dust…

(list is in no particular order)

1. Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2) by Lani Taylor — Oh how I want to know what happens with Karou and Akiva!

2. The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #2) by Michelle Hodkin — Noah Shaw. Yum. I swear it’s hard to concentrate when I go to an event where Michelle Hodkin is at and seeing the Noah from the trailers there! Haha

3. Seraphina (Seraphina #1) by Rachel Hartman

4. The Lost Girl by Sangu Mandanna

5. Every Day by David Levithan — I’ve heard nothing but great things about this one!

6. Mystic City (Mystic City #1) by Theo Lawrence

7. The Shadow Society by Marie Rutkoski

8. Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles #1) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl– Really want to read this before the movie comes out!

9. Tell the Wolves I’m Coming Home by Carol Rifka Brunt — I don’t read many contemporary Young Adult, but this seems worth it.

10. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn — the only non-YA on the list!

2. Tempest by Julie Cross — So happy that I found it at Strand this past week!

4. Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey

5. The Hunger Games by Suzanna Collins — Not entirely excited to read this for the story as I am just to have finally read it! Haha

6. 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami — Eventually the nearly 1000pgs won’t be so daunting when I start this since I’m a fan of his work.

8. The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls — One of six titles my sister and I will read together now that she’s completely done with school!

9. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith — I’m hoping the movie will be a good summer flick, but I still want to read it first

Top Ten Tuesday (2)

What a great topic!:)

Top Ten Childhood Favorites

1. Fear Street series by R. L. Stein — I LOVED these books! I think I may have read most of them

2. Choose Your Own Adventure books — Oh the fun of getting to choose your own fate… multiple times!

3. Encyclopedia Brown series by Donald J. Sobol — My brother would read me these  since he liked to try to solve the mystery too:P

4. Archie comics — My sister was really into these and I naturally just started reading them too. I think I still may have some Double Digests…

5. Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson — This is the first memory of loving a book. I remember I borrowed it from the library and refused to return it. I don’t think I ever returned it, but I know I no longer have it… I must have donated it. Speaking of the library (and also because I’m feeling nostalgic), I still have my very first library card! My sister wrote my name for me since I think I was like 3yrs old:)

6. Corduroy by Don Freeman — Another early childhood favorite! After this I believed toys were real.

7. Roald Dahl books — How could you have not loved at least one of his books growing up? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Witches!

8. Where’s Waldo books by Martin Handford — Such a classic!

9. The Berenstain Bears books by Stan Berenstain — I think it was just because it was a family of bears that did things just like humans! Haha

10. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein — My first memory of this book is that it was long for a children’s book, but also incredibly sweet.
